Strong beginning

Sir — This refers to the report, “Blasts fail to foil Modi rally” (October 28). If Mr Narendra Modi could attract such a huge crowd in Bihar, it speaks volume of his mass appeal and augurs well for the BJP in a State where it had to part ways with the ruling JD(U).

Bihar sends a significant number — 40 — of MPs to Parliament. It is crucial that the BJP does well in the State if it has to form the Government at the Centre. It must now maintain Sunday’s momentum.
