Sir — This refers to the reports that liberals have begun to shed tears over the encounter-killing of eight activists of the banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI). Those killed were accused in serious crimes, and they escaped from jail after brutally killing a prison staff. They deserved no mercy. State agencies cannnot be soft on such people.
