Sir — This refers to the article, “The Congress does not merit another chance” (April 15) by A Surya Prakash. The Congress’s hold on instruments of propaganda is strong. It has refined the pre-Partition motif of separatism in the post-Partition period by making non-Hindus believe that only the party can provide them safety and that they require it to suppress the majority community from demanding parity in concessions that the minorities get.
This has been reinforced by Centrist and leftist historians re-writing history. Also, academics have been pressed into service to promote this feeling. If the minorities are freed from this propaganda, unleashed by so-called secular parties that whitewash their thinking, then India can truly flourish.
