This refers to reports of former Indian cricketer Ravi Shastri observing that “Kohli isn't a finished article yet”. Nobody disputes Indian batsman Virat Kohli's batting prowess. But the fact is that he threw away his wicket in the semi-final with an irresponsible shot. Moreover, he is quick with his tantrums, which is not a good sign in a young Test captain. Shastri is also wrong when he says Dhoni “will only get better from here on”. Dhoni lacks finer points of captainship. His abilities as a captain were disputed by Mohinder Amarnath. It seems Shastri has joined the elite club of Indian cricket management which had engineered an overthrow of the most capable Indian captain, Sourav Ganguly.
