Solid brotherhood

Sir — This refers to the editorial, “More Ministers needed” (September 5). Apart from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the other man whose hand was in the reshuffle is BJP chief Amit Shah, who seem to have given significant inputs on the exercise. The Modi-Shah team seems to have redefined the National Democratic Alliance from the very start, forsaking the accommodative-consultative air of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee era.
By ignoring the  ever-complaining Shiv Sena, Modi has made it clear that he isn’t open to any political blackmail. But the one who felt the shove hard must be Janata Dal (United) chief Nitish Kumar, considered a trophy acquisition for the NDA with his stunning turncoat act in late July.
