Sir — This refers to the article, “A village that harnessed the sun” (August 1) by Avik Roy. The writer has done an excellent job in highlighting the achievement of a nondescript village in Bihar which had been pleading for electricity for more than 30 years. I am surprised that when clean and efficient solar energy can be made available to villages, why has the Government failed in all these decades to provide this facilityIJ
Is there a vested interest in keeping people in dark and depriving them of their basic right to progressIJ I hope the present Union Government will take corrective decisions so that the fruits of development are shared by all.
