Sir — This refers to the article, “Straws in the wind, and forceful ones” (July 24) by Gautam Mukherjee. The bulk of private media had tried its best to spread disinformation on the Gujarat violence of 2002. And that was not all. There was much fuss about Mr Narendra Modi’s apology or lack thereof, the pinning of blame on the Chief Minister which eventually flew in the face of the Supreme Court’s clean chit to him, the more recent distortion of Mr Modi’s “puppy” remark and the stonewalling of counter-charges on the Sikh massacre of 1984.
The media is at it even now, painting Hindus black. Every day on we see the media bashing Right-of-Centre opinions.
