Sir — This refers to the news report, “Srinivasan lies nailed as evidence galore” (May 28). The report says Union Minister for law and Justice Kapil Sibal ruled out Government interference in the matters of the Board of Control for Cricket in India. True, the scam-ridden Congress-led UPA Government has no moral right to interfere in the affairs of the BCCI.
Recall the massive evidence and proof in the 2G Spectrum scam, Commonwealth Games, coal block allocations scandal and the recent railways scam involving massive financial and professional impropriety. The UPA Government has taken only selective action in the 2G Spectrum scam.
Former Union Minister for Sports Ajay Maken tried to cleanse sports and bring some transparency in administration, but it was opposed by politicians across the board. The public outrage against the Manmohan Singh-led Government is no less than that against the BCCI.
BCCI chief N Srinivasan only seems to be taking a leaf out of Mr Singh’s book and is tenaciously hanging on to his post.
