Sir — This refers to Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi’s silly remark that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had done nothing to check Pakistan from shelling Indian positions.
Perhaps, Mr Gandhi does not know that it is the job of the Indian Army to retaliate against Pakistan’s offensive along the border. Mr Modi has given the Army full freedom to operate as it deems fit. Under the Congress-led UPA regime, the Army had been unofficially told not to hit back too hard.
