Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Scrap this triple talaq” (December 10). The Allahabad High Court’s verdict condemning the practice of triple talaq is significant. Religious tenets cannot override the Constitutional provisions of the country. Constitution is supreme and a democratically elected regime is obliged to exercise its unequivocal authority to protect the genuine interests of the people.
