Sir — This refers to the report, “Stung by exit polls, Cong to shun allies” (May 14). The core group of the Congress seems to have taken two decisions. One is not to put the blame on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his Government for the poor showing, while also shielding Rahul Gandhi. The second one is to stand on its own legs in various States and not play second fiddle to regional parties Now, the party will do well to take the historic step of doing away with the dynastic control on the party and allow each and every Congress worker to aspire for top positions in the party.
