Sir — According to Hindu mythology, it is highly improper to worship living personalities like they are god. Even the garlanding of photos of living personalities is not considered proper. BSP chief Mayawati faced strong criticism on the installation of her statues.
Media reports indicate that some people have constructed a ‘Modi temple’ in honour of the Prime Minister, by stalling his statue at a temple constructed on land given by a village panchayat for the construction of a Hindu temple. It is good that the Prime Minister has taken note of it and expressed “shock” over the development. The project, as he has wished, should be scrapped.
