Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Electoral fraud exposed” (April 11). The ongoings in the RK Nagar constituency has shamed the Tamil community. The country was witness to the legislators being herded into a resort with all kinds of allurements, to support one or the other faction of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), which has split.
The extension of it was seen in RK Nagar when the Cabinet Ministers were ordered to distribute money to the voters. The Election Commission of India has done a great job to call off the election as money power was being used to bribe voters. The Income Tax department too must be complimented. It must carry on with its investigations and impose strict penalties on wrongdoers so that this does not get repeated elsewhere.
