This refers to the article, “Eminent intellectuals and their many tricks” (November 2) by Joginder Singh. let me state at the very beginning that I am an honest tax-payer and I am not a member of any political party or any religious organisation. All these intellectuals who have been returning their awards must seriously introspect if they were worthy of the award or if they got the award due to their proximity to the ruling dispensation of that time.
The award was given to writers, poets etc out of the tax-payers’ money. By returning the award, the writers should be ashamed, as this act degrades the prestige of the award.
