Settling matter

Published on:

The Supreme Court has rightly observed that women being prohibited to enter temple is a breach of the Constitution. There still exists an age-old tradition, wherein menstruating girls and women are not allowed to prepare food or enter the temple premises. With changing times, such traditions and customs are baseless and must be abandoned.

If it is proved scientifically or medically that women during menstruation have no ill-effects/consequences, there will be no case to disallow them from entering the temples etc. Such a report, if available, must be considered, and if not, this matter can be investigated to settle the matter.
