Sir — This refers to the editorial, “JNU issue and beyond” (February 15). It is saddening that, at a time when our brave soldiers are sacrificing their lives to protect our country, some students at the Jawaharlal Nehru University are bringing shame by eulogising the hanged terrorist, Mohammad Afzal Guru.
Moreover, various political parties like the Congress and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) have come out in support of these anti-nationals. Freedom of expression cannot be limitless. There ought to be a limit to it and people should know about the consequences of crossing the limit. I may exercise my right of freedom of expression in abusing or threatening someone, but would never do so because I know the consequences. That is the limit for my freedom of expression.
