Sir — BJP leaders go on lambasting the Congress-led UPA Government for the present ‘leaderless country and rudderless Government’, as if their party has a strong and united leadership.
They also routinely mock Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for being hopelessly inactive, alleging that every decision of the Government, led by him, is taken by Congress president Sonia Gandhi. If this claim is true and it has indeed impacted public opinion, then how come the BJP has failed miserably in Karnataka, where the Congress made an impressive come-backIJ
It is a pity that the BJP makes no effort to resolve its internal feuds. The verdict in the Karnataka election was not a positive mandate in favour of the Congress. Despite, countless cases of corruption involving Congress leaders, Karnataka embraced the party in the absence of a viable alternative. The BJP will now have a tough time making inroads into any southern State where regional parties play a vital role.
