Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Setting right an old wrong” (April 17). The transgender community has been the most neglected educationally and is socially backward, with no political party considering its members as valuable voters, since their number is small — just a million throughout the country. But now the Supreme Court has given them a new lease of life.
Not only have they been given a separate entity, but they are also entitled to reservation in jobs and education. Meanwhile, transgenders should now desist from crossing limits of decency in public places and stop being a nuisance to the people.
