Sir — Veteran BJP leader lK Advani’s obstinacy and tantrum reminds one of Mahatma Gandhi’s opposition to Subhas Chandra Bose who had to vacate the Congress presidentship.
The Mahatma, much to the dismay of many Congress leaders, overruled the majority’s choice of Sardar Vallabbhai Patel for Prime Ministership and imposed Jawaharlal Nehru on the nation. It is unfortunate that the BJP’s mentor and patriarch is seen to be promoting his personal agenda against the overwhelming majority opinion in the BJP.
