Secular India

This refers to the article, “Exit Aurangzeb, enter APJ Abdul Kalam” (September 15) by A Surya Prakash. The writer has rightly stated that certain pseudo-secularists have taken umbrage over the decision to change the name of the most tyrant ruler. Aurangzeb under no circumstances can be put in the same balance as eminent scientist AJP Abdul Kalam. Yet, the former’s adherents put him well above all as if he were their god and everything in the universe is trivial before his stature. Aurangzeb’s acts were too loathsome to be mentioned.

From dismantling of temples to the butchering of innocent persons who disobeyed his proselytisation order, besides imposition of jaziya and increase in custom duty on imported goods by non-Muslims. The NDA Government has not committed a mistake and what it has done is as per the wish of secularism.
