Science now follows a sadhu's bizarre dreams

Published on:

The Union Government and the Archeological Survey of India are facing criticism and ridicule for having acted on the dreams a seer had of treasure buried near a temple at Daundiya Khera village in Unnao district of Uttar Pradesh. It is surprising that a sadhu's pleas have been accepted. The State Government and the Centre who were led to believe in this self-concocted melodrama must understand that the country's national assets can be made stronger only through the hard work of the people and the politicians. There are numerous examples of how the nation's age-old rich natural resources have been looted by politicians with impunity.

Even if a gold mine is discovered at the excavation site, it will only be a bone of contention between the State and the Centre. In this age of science and technology, what boggles the mind is that the officials have been led to believe a sadhu's bizarre dream.
