Satyarthi and Malala are angels of our nations

Published on:

At a time when civilians on both the Indian and Pakistani sides have died probably because of a deliberate target firing, it is notable that an Indian and Pakistani national will jointly share the Nobel peace prize. India's Kailash Satyarthi and Pakistan's Malala Yousafzai have been chosen for the coveted Nobel peace prize award.

While Mr Satyarthi has maintained the tradition of Mahatma Gandhi by heading various forms of peaceful protests that “focused on the grave exploitation of children for financial gain,” MsYousafzai, the youngest recipient of the Nobel prize, is a Pakistani education campaigner. She was shot in the head on her way to school by the Taliban two years ago.

Probably, these people are the angels of our countries. The Nobel Committee has rightly said that it regards it “important for a Hindu and a Muslim, an Indian and a Pakistani, to jointly fight the struggle for education and extremism.”
