Sir — This refers to the article, “Countdown for the Congress has begun” (February 26) by Rajesh Singh. The impending doom is the Congress’s own making.
With 206 seats in 2009 and the left parties out of the way, the party could have focussed on governance, delivery, economy and the rest. Instead, it indulged in the worst kind of corruption and vote-bank politics to ensure victory in 2014. If Mr Narendra Modi takes over as Prime Minister, it will be over for the Congress even in 2019.
