Sir — This refers to the article, “Kanhaiya Kumar: The hero for no reason” (March 9) by Rajesh Singh. It’s a shame that students who raised anti-India slogans at the Jawaharlal Nehru University have been supported by parties like the Congress, the left and many other in the opposition. This is because the sole purpose of the Opposition, especially the Congress, is to oppose each and every move of the Modi Government and to demonise Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The writer correctly contends that Kanhaiya Kumar’s new-found patriotism is only because the Delhi High Court has given him an interim bail, after which it will re-assess the situation. Yes, he and his supporters are suffering from selective amnesia. They have forgotten the wrongdoings of Congress Governments of the past.
