This refers to the article, “An idea whose time has gone” (December 29) by Priyadarshi Dutta. The author has rightly quoted Charles Talleyrand, the French Foreign Minister who said, “They have learnt nothing, forgotten nothing”. These words are apt for idealists who dream of ‘akhand Bharat’.
The article talks about the drastic reduction of the Hindu population in Pakistan and Bangladesh. Why was this issue never raised with Pakistan or BangladeshIJ My suggestion is to restore the Hindu population in both countries to the level that it was in 1947 and 1972 respectively.
