Sir — It is a shattering blow to the faith of those, who despite their subservience to the ruling elite, had confidence in the Central Bureau of Investigation’s impartiality in conducting investigations and presenting unbiased reports on the assigned matter. But recent events have found the CBI grossly wanting in professional integrity. Not without reason has the premier investigating agency been lampooned and labelled as a ‘parrot’ and handmaiden of the Congress-led UPA Government.
Over the years the UPA Government’s objective has been to erode all constitutional institutions and make them subservient to it. Checks and balances, rule of law, transparency and accountability, are invaluable assets of a parliamentary democracy, but under the present regime, these have been severely compromised over and over again.
