Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Case of missing coal files” (August 21). In a democracy, it’s the responsibility of people’s representatives to protect the interest of the nation and uphold the rule of law. Unfortunately, the reality is different. Our representatives are intent only in pursuing their own agenda over the interests of the nation and the people. Worse, they employ the official machinery to cover up the numerous misdeeds of the Government. The case of the missing coal files is a good example of that.
The BJP has done well to raise the issue of the missing files in Parliament. It must continue to play a constructive role and protest against the UPA’s misrule.
