This refers to the editorial, “The rise of violence” (September 1). Pornography is one cause that instigates sexual offences. It should be banned. We are influenced by what we read or see. Good literature and theatre can inculcate respect for women. Presentation of women as consumer object in films and advertisements should end. One cannot treat women as an object of commodity and pleasure and at the same time have respect for them. More the openness, more the sexual offence.
