Relentless rant against Prime Minister must end

Published on:

This refers to the report, “Cong will end ‘rule of fear': Rahul” (January 12). One had hoped that after his holiday in Europe, Congress vice president Rahul Ganhi would be more sober and thoughtful, and less juvenile, while commenting on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. But the Congress scion continues to be mired in muck. Despite the Supreme Court's rejection of Birla-Sahara diaries' corruption charges against the Prime Minister, he has kept on repeating them. He added that it was for the first time that the Prime Minister was being “ridiculed world over” for demonetisation.

On the other hand, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee crossed all limits of dignified and cultured discourse by calling Modi a “Ravan” whose men tried to “crash my plane”; she and her MP Kalyan Banerjee also labelled him “a rat who will return to Gujarat” in the face of “country-wide protests” on note ban. Is it not time for the judiciary to take suo motu notice to stop malicious, unethical attacks on the elected head of GovernmentIJ
