Sir — The Archaeological Survey of India has begun digging the earth at Daundiya Khera village in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, to get gold. The digging is being done on the basis of a dream that a sadhu had. One has to understand the theory behind dreams.
Generally one dreams of what goes on in the mind, consciously or sub-consciously. Dreams can also be based on past lives (whether one believes in re-incarnation or not), but there is no scientific proof of past lives. life is based on thoughts of oneself only. Karma is also a result of the thoughts that a person has. That is why positive and clean thoughts result in good actions. You then get good dreams too.
I wish to cite an instance from my example. I recall that when I was a student, I lived in a Government colony in New Delhi. I had a dream that underneath our front lawn, there was a treasure of arms. I believed it was based on facts — my knowledge from some sources that the area we lived in had been under the control and a haven of dacoits in recent history. Thus I got that dream.
