Rational demand

Published on:

This refers to the report, “Bhagwat’s quota review advice triggers debate” (September 22).  The current reservation system cannot be treated as a perennial Constitutional right to certain castes alone for conspicuous reasons. Poverty is a common phenomenon in every human race irrespective of caste, religion etc and, therefore, reserving Constitutional rights linking with the caste, religion of the citizens is blatantly ambiguous besides it is also against the secular provisions of the Constitution.

The demand to revise the existing reservation policy is, therefore, cogently rational. Our unbiased politicians, intelligentsia should introspect and find an amicable solution to this dilemma.
