Rational criticism

Sir — This refers to the report, “Kirti does a hit wicket; BJP suspends him” (December 24). Undoubtedly, corruption is emerging as a common phenomenon in Indian politics and no party can claim immunity from this menace.

The suspension of whistleblower MP Kirti Azad from the BJP will create more trouble for his organisation. Besides, it will also corrode the people’s confidence in the system. At any rate, Mr Azad’s stand against corruption is irrefutably rational and his suspension from the party, allegedly for anti-party activities, is indeed dubious for perceptible reasons.
