Rahul's tirade against RSS will cause trouble

Published on:

This refers to the editorial, “No free pass for Rahul” (July 21). Unexpectedly, the Supreme Court has taken cognisance on a petition filed by a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) worker, in which Congress scion Rahul Gandhi, in an election congregation in Maharashtra in 2014, had accused the RSS of murdering the Mahatma.

The apex court has warned Rahul Gandhi to either apologise to the RSS or be prepared to face trial, on which his party has preferred the latter option. Even if it is presumed that the Mahatma's assassin, Nathuram Godse, was an RSS worker, it never surmises that the entire RSS was behind this diabolical act. Moreover, if the Congress' version is accepted, by the same logic, it (Congress) can also be held responsible for the 1984 Sikh genocide.

As far as RSS is concerned, it is a social organisation, meant for preserving the national integration, fighting against those who are destabilising India and are causing communal harmony.
