Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Obama’s brave admission” (June 25). As the head of one of the most powerful and liberal countries in the world, US President Barack Obama has, in a rare moment of candour, admitted to racism in his country, even though decades have gone by since Blacks were officially integrated into the US society.
You have rightly observed that the US should act upon the President’s sage advice of maintaining racial harmony. Also, the President is right that political correctness does not mean zero-tolerance for racism.
