Sir — This refers to the report, “Dec 16: Wait for justice prolonged” (September 12). Nothing short of capital punishment should be awarded to the men who brutalised and raped the hapless young intern who succumbed to her grievous injuries in a Singapore hospital.
Only a death sentence can make them realise the enormity of their crime. It will also put the fear of law in others . Severe punishment will serve as a deterrent to others. It will also be a tribute to the departed soul and ensure a sense of justice to her grieving family.
