Punish road rowdies

Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Menace of biker gangs” (July 30). You are right in asking that if the police was to remain a mute witness, allow deviant behaviour by a bunch of rowdies, and demonstrate indifference to protecting the citizens, who will do the needfulIJ

In the face of blatant and willful defiance by the trouble-makers, the police had no option but to take them on with retaliatory measures, whatever the consequences. The bikers need to be taught a lesson, and a stern message sent across that hooliganism and harassment of the public will be strictly dealt with.
