Sir — This refers to the article, “Mobocracy cannot replace democracy” (January 20) by Balbir Punj. The author has highlighted how the Aam Aadmi Party and its leaders are plunging headlong down a dangerous cliff and are attempting to take civil society with them.
Clearly, the party and its supremo have decided that governing Delhi and demonstrating all that the party promised to stand for, is a far more onerous task than posturing and agitating on the streets. Dharnas etc come easily these days and fetch free and unlimited prime time attention from the media.
Evidently, the AAP leaders and their supporters believe that being in the spotlight for reasons that are right or wrong, is all they need to do until the lok Sabha election. This is bound to be counter-productive as the people want good governance and not agitations by members of the Government led by the Chief Minister, no less.
