Sir — This refers to the editorial, “A new American order” (January 23). As feared, soon after assuming office, US President Donald Trump has started acting against the initiatives taken by his predecessor, Barack Obama. Hours after assuming office, Trump’s target was Obama healthcare. This makes his intention clear: He wants to undo all old schemes and initiatives. It would not be an exaggeration to say that India needs to be worried about Trump’s ‘Buy American and Hire American’ policy. His protectionist approach would hit world hard.
