Prime Minister Modi has hit the nail on the head

This refers to the editorial, “Development reminder” (March 22). Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call to his party, to focus on development work done by the NDA Government, could not have come at a better time. Since the Prime Minister spoke at the BJP's National Executive meeting, his advice could not have escaped the attention of party workers. Ever since the NDA took over, the Government's smooth functioning has been hit hard by loose comments from party workers on issues that they could have shied away from.

Modi's good intentions were masked by unwanted remarks by the BJP cadres, including a couple of Ministers. The BJP should focus on the positives that have emerged in the last two years because a Government thrives more on public perception than anything else. One cannot deny that the Swachch Bharat Abhiyan, a revolutionary vision of the Prime Minister, is suffering due to ground-level inaction. Similarly, better publicity can work wonders for the other ambitious projects of the Government.
