Prime Minister has lost all sense of propriety

Published on:

This refers to the editorial, “PM isn't above the law” (October 18). It has now become clear that under the Congress-led UPA, one farce after the other will continue to be committed, and that too with impunity. So, through the coal scam probe, which looks to be a sham, the message being sent out to the world is that the worst of comedies can happen in the highest departments of the Government. Though former Coal Secretary PC Parakh's reactionary and late outburst is suspect in itself, what is frustrating is the shamelessness with which Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is going about his daily business of ignoring one blunder after another.

Continuing with his trademark but now unbearable silence, he has made it clear that to him, the law of the land and righteousness mean nothing and that dancing to the tunes of his masters is what matters the most. Of course, this is not the first time that he has behaved so callously.
