Premature verdict

Sir — This refers to the report, “Nitish: Signs not good for achche din after 30 days” (June 28). Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s blogpost on the completion of his Government’s one month in office is being used by Opposition leaders and the news channels to attack him and his pre-poll commitment to bringing good days to the people.
On Prime Minister Modi’s comment that he didn’t get the luxury of the ‘100 day honeymoon period’, Congress spokesperson Ranjit Singh Surjewala asked the Prime Minister to come out of the honeymoon mindset and behave in accordance with the dignity of his post.
The Congress spokesperson has no right to talk of the dignity of the post of the Prime Minister after the disgraceful manner in which it treated Mr Manmohan Singh when the latter occupied the high position.
Debates on news channels on Mr Modi’s blogpost and “achche din” have been funny. All these critics forget that Mr Modi had appealed to the people, “You gave 60 years to Congress; give 60 months to me”. The people have given him 60 months to bring achche din.
