Pot calls kettle black

Sir — It is understandable for the Congress to take advantage of the disarray within the Bharatiya Janata Party in naming a prime ministerial candidate.
But it does not need to constantly gloat over the issue in public forums. After all, difference in opinion is a healthy sign for democratic institutions. Members can afford to air their varying points of view and yet continue to remain loyal to the same party. But, ‘democracy’ is just another word for the family-ruled Congress, where a second opinion is unthinkable.
In the oil-for-food scam that came to light during the tenure of UPAI in 2005, the then Union Minister for External Affairs K Natwar Singh and the Congress were named as beneficiaries of illegal oil deals in Iraq, in a UN report. But Mr Singh could not utter the simple truth that he was just an insignificant beneficiary and a mere conduit. The Congress must set its own house in order first before mocking the BJP and its leaders. let the electorate decide whether it will support the BJP under Mr Narendra Modi or anybody else.
