Politics of good and bad has been well grasped

This refers to the article, “When the people vote you out, blame EVMs” (April 11) by A Surya Prakash. The writer has rightly exposed the hypocrisy of politicians like Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal and Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati vis-à-vis the electronic voting machines. Surprisingly, when the AAP swept the 2015 Delhi Assembly election with a mind boggling 67 of 70 seats, there was no ruckus about the EVMs; the Congress score was zero, and the BJP three.

It is common knowledge that the Congress has been in a pitiable condition in Uttar Pradesh. Kejriwal's party is a new comer which did not even fight the Uttar Pradesh Assembly election. Further, Mayawati's BSP has been losing ground in the State in recent years, thanks to her policies and self-serving leadership. Finally, the truth is that the Indian elector has matured enough to distinguish between a good, trustworthy politician and a bad, unreliable one.
