Sir — Mr Mulayam Singh Yadav’s statement on rape being a “mistake” that does not deserve the death penalty seems to have been made with the intention to create a new vote-bank for his party, through the inclusion of rapists.Mr Yadav will be a loser as no sensible woman will vote for the Samajwadi Party after this very insensitive remark.
