Sir — This refers to the editorial, “More loyal than the king” (May 3). Fascist to the core, the Congress has always wanted to hijack every institution —whether it is the media, the judiciary, the bureaucracy, the military, the lokpal, the Raj Bhavan, or the many others. 

The party is still nostalgic about dictatorial single-party regimes that it had run over the years since Independence. So, it is not surprising that it has maintained a strangle-hold over the national broadcaster, Doordarshan. This came out starkly in the manner which Doordarshan edited BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi’s interview.
