Sir — This refers to the article, “Karnataka is the first hurdle for two leaders” (May 3) by Kalyani Shankar. The comparison between Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi is a creation of the media, and a laughable one at that. Mr Modi is a gifted orator and an astute administrator while Mr Gandhi makes a mockery of himself whenever he speaks and has zero experience in administration.
So far as the Karnataka election is concerned, it is a strategic decision to limit Mr Modi’s exposure in that State, so that the impact is stronger, and that has been the case. Mr Modi has electrified the masses in Karnataka. If the BJP does surprisingly well in that State, credit should be given to Mr Modi.
