Sir — It is really unfortunate that a young scholar of the University of Hyderabad lost his life. Even more unfortunate is the twist and turn that the so-called intellectuals are trying to give to this incident. Universities are meant for education. If educational institutes are used for political gains or to promote a particular ideology, clashes are bound to happen.
By the way, in IITs, the number of suicide cases by the reserved category students is alarmingly high. However, there is always a second story to it.
Most of the students from the reserved category end up struggling in academics. Pressure blows up and they resort to committing suicides. It is not a generalised outcome, but definitely a plausible one.
