This refers to the editorial, “Swachch Cricket drive” (July 16). Usually, the powers-that-be put in their papers when allegations of rampant corruption come to the fore or when there is a possible conflict of interests at the institutions they were heading. But at the Indian Premier league, some managers have stayed put despite facing allegations.
Now, with the apex court-appointed Justice RM lodha committee exposing the rot in the IPl as well as the Board of Control for Cricket in India, it is time that the two organisations cleanse their images by dissociating themselves from vested interests. The latter call the shots at these outfits and do so for their personal enrichment and bring infamy to Indian cricket.
