Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Sagacious advice for BJP” (July 1). You say that the Opposition has begun wrongly criticising the Government for taking ‘anti-people’ decisions like the increase in rail fares, trying to belittle institutions by seeking the resignation of Governors, interfering in the affairs of autonomous bodies like Delhi University, and converting the PMO into a dictatorial outfit.
Please don’t blame the Opposition. Union Minister for Railways Sadananda Gowda justified the hike by firing the gun from the UPA’s shoulders. Union Ministers must stop passing the buck to the UPA and instead boldly take the tough decisions on their chin. That will increase their credibility with the aam aadmi. It must stop talking the language of the discredited UPA.
