Sir — The worsening security scenario in Kashmir Valley due to terrorism has not even left the media immune to its consequences. I believe that an attack on a journalist challenges the very foundations of a free Press and vibrant democracy.
The brutal killing of senior journalist Shujaat Bukhari and Editor of Rising Kashmir, is deeply shocking and should be a grave cause of concern. He was a fearless journalist, man of conviction and an institution in himself and has been a mentor to many journalists.
It is an act of cowardliness, The perpetrators of this heinous crime must not go unpunished. The Police should bring not only the foot soldiers who carried out this diabolic murder but also those behind this heinous crime to justice.
A Nation is poorer whenever legendary men like Bukhari fade out of scene.
This should be condemned by one and all. May his soul rest in peace.
